Facilitation
Don Swenholt helps groups plan and conduct meetings that stay on track and produce tangible outcomes.
Features of the facilitation process include-
- Working with planners to determine meeting objectives, processes, ground rules, attendees, location, room set-up, etc.
- Structuring activities that help the group meet its goals, including case studies, discussion questions, brainstorming activities, etc.
- Opening the meeting, guiding discussion, keeping the meeting on track, and summarizing periodically
- Maintaining a low profile (Group members' input is primary. The facilitator functions as an aid to group discussion rather than as a participant.)
- Mixing teams to foster maximum interaction among all participants
- Insuring that all participate and none dominate
- Facilitating record keeping, so that participants have a record of agreements, action items, owners, and due dates at the end of the meeting
- Planning brain teasers and competitions and other diversions
- Providing door prizes and raffles as motivators
